Nearby Nearby Network is a nonprofit built around neighbors helping neighbors.
Our work is focused exclusively on small towns and rural communities across the United States.
We exist to strengthen rural communities by improving access to reliable local information, supporting community-led disaster readiness, and reinforcing the economic and social connections that help rural America prepare, respond, and recover when it matters most.

Our Approach
We take a grassroots, neighbors-helping-neighbors approach that centers local leadership and real-world rural conditions.
Rather than relying on top-down systems, we focus on helping communities identify trusted local hubs, maintain access to information during disruptions, and share accurate, on-the-ground updates when traditional systems fall short.
This approach supports:

Our Relationship to Nearby Nearby
Nearby Nearby Network is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is separately governed, separately mission-driven, and operates under its own board and leadership.
Nearby Nearby is a separate for-profit company focused on everyday local discovery for rural communities. The two organizations share a founder and a commitment to rural America, but they are structurally and legally distinct, much in the same way Ronald McDonald House Charities operates independently from McDonald’s.
That independence is intentional. It ensures that the nonprofit’s mission, serving communities in need, is never shaped by commercial interests.
